Web Designer Position Type: Full-Time, Remote Working Hours: U.S Business Hours About the Role We’re looking for a skilled Web Designer to create polished, user-centered web experiences that balance visual quality with usability. You’ll translate briefs and product goals into wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes, ensuring designs are responsive, consistent, and ready for development. Working closely with developers and stakeholders, you’ll own your designs from initial concept through implementation review. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented designer who takes pride in their work, communicates proactively, and can manage projects independently in a remote, asynchronous environment. What You’ll Own Visual Design & Prototyping Translate project briefs and product goals into clear, user-centered web designs. Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts before development begins. Balance visual appeal, usability, and business objectives across web experiences. Responsive Web Design Design and refine layouts for mobile, tablet, and desktop screens. Apply responsive design principles to deliver consistent experiences across devices. Consider how layouts and interactions translate into HTML and CSS. Design System Maintenance Contribute to and improve the existing design system. Maintain consistency across components, typography, colors, spacing, and layouts. Use component libraries and reusable design elements to support efficient workflows. Developer Collaboration & Handoff Work closely with front-end developers to ensure accurate design implementation. Provide clear specifications, assets, and guidance for layouts and interactions. Answer implementation questions and resolve design-related issues during development. Feedback & Iteration Incorporate stakeholder and user feedback into design revisions. Refine designs efficiently while keeping the original project goals in focus. Ask clarifying questions and communicate potential blockers early. Design Quality Assurance Review implemented pages against approved designs. Identify visual inconsistencies, layout issues, and usability concerns. Recommend fixes to maintain a high standard of design quality. Required Experience & Skills Professional experience in web design, supported by a portfolio demonstrating strong visual judgment, layout skills, and attention to detail. Proficiency in a modern design tool such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD. Experience with component libraries, reusable components, and auto-layout workflows. Solid understanding of responsive design principles and how designs translate into HTML and CSS. Familiarity with UX fundamentals, including information architecture, user flows, accessibility, and usability. Strong written and spoken English for clear communication with distributed teams and stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines independently. Strong attention to detail and willingness to refine work based on feedback. What Makes You a Strong Fit You take pride in producing polished, thoughtful design work and maintain high standards without constant supervision. You communicate proactively, clarify requirements early, and keep collaborators informed. You respond constructively to feedback and focus on delivering the best outcome for users and the business. You work effectively in an asynchronous environment and manage your workload reliably. You collaborate well with developers and understand the importance of accurate design handoffs. You take ownership of your designs from concept through final implementation review. What Success Looks Like High-quality, user-centered web designs that align with project goals. Responsive layouts that deliver consistent experiences across devices. A well-maintained design system with reusable, consistent components. Clear handoffs that help developers implement designs accurately. Timely, thoughtful revisions based on feedback. Implemented pages that closely match approved designs and meet quality expectations. Typical Day You’ll begin by reviewing feedback and comments on active design files and prioritizing your work. Depending on project needs, you may refine a landing page, develop a reusable design component, or revise a product interface. You may also meet with a developer to discuss a design handoff or clarify an interaction. Later in the day, you’ll review completed work for quality, update project notes, and document progress so teammates across time zones can continue smoothly.
