Role Description The Used Car Sales Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based at Roy O'Brien Ford in St. Clair Shores, MI. This role focuses on assisting guests with selecting pre-owned vehicles that best fit their needs, preferences, and budget while delivering a positive and transparent buying experience. Daily responsibilities include greeting and engaging guests, conducting needs assessments, presenting vehicle options, arranging test drives, and explaining pricing, financing, and warranty options. The specialist will maintain up-to-date product and inventory knowledge, follow up with prospective and existing guests, and use dealership systems to accurately document interactions and sales activities. Collaborating with service, finance, and management teams, the Used Car Sales Specialist works to meet individual and dealership sales targets while supporting long-term customer relationships. Qualifications Strong sales consulting and automotive sales skills, with the ability to match guests to appropriate used vehicles and close sales ethically and effectively. Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction and support customer retention through clear communication, follow-up, and relationship building. Excellent customer service skills, including active listening, problem-solving, and professionalism in face-to-face and phone interactions. Comfort working in a fast-paced dealership environment, with basic computer proficiency and ability to learn CRM and inventory management systems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members across departments. Previous experience in automotive sales or retail sales is preferred; familiarity with Ford vehicles and competitive brands is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or coursework in sales or business is beneficial.
