Job Description

The Aircraft Technician performs safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairs on Learjet aircraft in accordance with manufacturer manuals, FAA-approved data, and all applicable regulations and procedures. This role ensures the airworthiness and reliability of aircraft by following established standards, accurately interpreting technical documentation, and collaborating with the maintenance team to support ongoing projects and operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform aircraft maintenance, inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairs in accordance with manufacturer manuals and FAA-accepted or approved data.
• Ensure all assigned tasks comply with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies and procedures outlined in the General Procedures Manual and the FAA Approved Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program.
• Interpret aircraft technical manuals, electrical drawings, and related documentation to diagnose issues and perform accurate repairs.
• Support movement of aircraft in the hangar and on the ramp, including safe operation of tow-tractors and related ground support equipment.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and safe work area at all times, following safety and housekeeping standards.
• Perform only those tasks for which proper training and qualifications have been obtained, and seek guidance when required.
• Participate in weekly maintenance meetings to review project progress, discuss inspection, service, and repair activities, and help resolve technical and scheduling issues.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to facilitate communication and provide updates on aircraft status and maintenance phases.
• Apply excellent troubleshooting skills to identify root causes of mechanical and systems issues on Learjet aircraft and PW305A engines.
• Follow inventory-related procedures and assist with basic inventory management functions to ensure necessary parts and materials are available for maintenance activities.

Essential Skills

• Mechanic's Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings.
• 14 CFR Part 65.83 Certification
• 6 years of experience on PW305A engines and Learjet 60 aircraft; candidates with a mix of Lear 60 and Lear 55 experience are also considered.
• Hands-on experience working on Learjet aircraft, specifically Lear 60 and/or Lear 55 models.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for aircraft systems, structures, and engines.
• Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations Parts 135 and 145 and the parameters and standards established within those regulations.
• Ability to interpret aircraft technical manuals and electrical drawings accurately.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work harmoniously with others in a team-oriented environment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid U.S. drivers license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with PW305A engines and Learjet 60 aircraft maintenance beyond the minimum requirement is highly valued.
• Comfort with basic inventory management functions, including tracking parts and supplies for maintenance tasks.
• Ability to participate effectively in regular maintenance meetings and communicate clearly about project status and technical issues.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Capability to operate tow-tractors and assist with aircraft movement in hangar and ramp environments.

Work Environment

This role operates in a hangar and ramp environment with a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You work directly on Learjet aircraft using your own tools, which you are expected to bring to the job. The setting requires consistent adherence to safety procedures and careful coordination during aircraft movement and towing operations. The facility emphasizes cleanliness and organization, with technicians maintaining their work areas in a neat, clean, and safe condition at all times, and working within an FAA-regulated maintenance program.

This is a Contract position based out of Titusville, FL.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
